Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2025
1. Introduction
BaconTools (bacontools.com) is a collection of free, browser-based utility tools for developers, creators, and everyday problem-solvers. Privacy is core to what we do: our tools are designed to run entirely in your browser so that your data never has to leave your device.
2. What We Collect
Almost nothing. All BaconTools tools run entirely client-side inside your browser. When you use a tool — whether you're converting an image, decoding a JWT, or generating a QR code — your files, text, and other inputs are processed locally on your device. None of that data is uploaded to, processed by, or stored on our servers. We have no access to it.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics (measurement ID: G-SJLKMZ6M67) to understand general site usage patterns. Google Analytics collects anonymous information such as:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Browser type and operating system
- Approximate geographic location (country / city level)
- Referring website
This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally. We use it solely to understand which tools are popular and how to improve the site.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We store your
theme preference (light, dark, or bacon) in your browser's
localStorage so the site remembers your choice on future visits. This value
never leaves your browser.
Google Analytics may set its own cookies (_ga, _gid, etc.) to
distinguish unique visitors. You can opt out via the
Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
.
5. Third-Party Services
Google Analytics is the only third-party service integrated into BaconTools. We do not use:
- Advertising networks or ad trackers
- Affiliate programs
- Data brokers or audience enrichment services
- Social media tracking pixels
6. Your Data
Because all tool processing happens locally in your browser, your files, images, text, and any other inputs never leave your device. We have no access to them and cannot share, sell, or lose them. If you close the tab or clear your browser storage, any locally cached tool state is gone.
7. Children's Privacy
BaconTools is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of BaconTools after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Contact
